Rachel Gilgoff MD is a board-certified child abuse pediatrician who has worked at the Center for Child Protection at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland since completing her fellowship training in 2007.
Her AVA Scholars Project will involve piloting and evaluating a toxic stress prevention program (TSPP) designed for a busy pediatric clinic. The primary goal of TSPP will be to prevent the intergenerational transmission of adversity by offering an ACES-based questionnaire to parents’/guardians’ of newborns, offering support and services for identified needs, and making the connection between parental stressors and current parenting strategies.
