AVA has an agreement with the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women's Health (ALSWH) for any AVA member interested in conducting a study on a longitudinal population-based survey examining the health of over 40,000 Australian women. Surveys began in 1996 and will continue until at least 2015 (20 years). ALSWH explores factors that influence health among women who are broadly representative of the entire Australian population and is the largest project of its kind ever conducted in Australia. The project takes a comprehensive view of all aspects of health (not just reproductive and sexual health) throughout women's lifespan and has an international reputation for its multidisciplinary methodology.
