Ellen Chiocca,PhD(c), CPNP, RNC-NIC
Ellen Chiocca is a doctoral candidate in the School of Nursing at the University of Missouri at Columbia. She earned a Master of Science degree in nursing and a post-Master’s nurse practitioner certificate from Loyola University Chicago, and a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from St. Xavier University in Chicago. Ms. Chiocca taught the nursing at DePaul University in Chicago from 2013-2015, and at Loyola University Chicago from 1991-2013. Ms. Chiocca currently practices as a pediatric nurse practitioner while completing her dissertation research, which focuses on generational patterns of violence against children among homeless families. Ms. Chiocca has published more than 25 journal articles and book chapters, and is a peer reviewer for the journals Journal of Aggression, Maltreatment & Trauma and the Journal of Child & Adolescent Trauma. She is currently working on the third edition of a textbook.
