Lauren Schooner, MD
Dr. Lauren Schooner is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with clinical expertise in traumatic stress in children and adults, as well as child maltreatment. She completed her undergraduate studies in Neuroscience and Anthropology at UCLA, graduating with honors, followed by medical school at Keck USC. She then completed her General Psychiatry Residency at Harbor UCLA and recently finished her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at UCI, where she served as chief fellow and is now volunteer faculty. Dr. Schooner is the Attending Supervisor for the child fellows’ county rotation in juvenile hall and the children’s home and provides education and training for trainees from multiple specialties rotating through the child abuse clinic. She is an early-career psychiatrist member of AACAP’s Child Maltreatment and Violence Committee, a new board member of the Academy on Violence and Abuse, and serves on Orange County’s Human Trafficking Healthcare Subcommittee. Her passion lies in education and awareness around traumatic stress for patients across the lifespan as well as the providers that serve them.
