Alexis Wielunski, MPH

Alexis Wielunski, MPH (she/her) is a Program Director at the Center for Care Innovations (CCI). She helps people get the care they need when and where they need it by supporting care delivery transformation in the safety net.

She leads a variety of programs within CCI’s focus areas, including the Resilient Beginnings Network and the Connected Care Accelerator.

Alexis came to CCI with more than 10 years of experience in working to improve the health of underserved populations. Alexis was the senior manager of organizational learning and sustainability at Health Outreach Partners, where she provided training and technical assistance to health centers across the country and helped launch a new initiative to address transportation barriers to care. Alexis led a peer sexual health education program that developed young women leaders by utilizing popular education methods and worked for California’s STD Control Branch to develop youth-friendly assessment tools for clinics. For more than eight years, Alexis volunteered at the Berkeley Free Clinic, providing client-centered HIV Test Counseling, connecting clients to community resources, and training new volunteers.

Alexis earned her bachelor’s degree in ethnic studies from the University of California, Berkeley and a master’s degree in public health from San Jose State University. Alexis has been a teaching associate for health communication and technology and a lecturer for health issues in a multicultural society at San Jose State University. During her free time, Alexis enjoys dancing and spending time outdoors with her family.
