Megan Bair-Merritt, MD, MSCE

Megan Bair-Merritt, MD, MSCE is the Associate Director of the Division of General Pediatrics and Fellowship Director at Boston Medical Center. She is a board-certified pediatrician and is a nationally recognized expert on the impact of intimate partner violence (IPV) on children.

Dr. Bair-Merritt completed her residency training at The Childrenʼs Hospital of Philadelphia and received her Masterʼs of Science in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicineʼs Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics. She has published over 20 peer-reviewed publications and chapters in the fields of IPV and child maltreatment.

Dr. Bair-Merritt is currently funded through a Career Development Award from the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development at the National Institutes of Health. This grant focuses on how different classes of IPV affect child health, and how parenting and maternal emotional health mediate this relationship. She has been invited to present her work nationally, including testifying about the importance of including IPV content into home visitation programs during a briefing for Congressional staffers. Her long-term goal is to develop interventions that facilitate the healthy development of children exposed to domestic violence.
