2026 Global Health Summit Call For Papers

Jacksonville Florida, October 15 - 16, 2026

The Deadline to submit a proposal is April 14. 

The 2026 Global Health Summit will provide a collegial interprofessional environment for networking and sharing advances in health education, advocacy, prevention, and research on trauma-informed practice when caring for people impacted by interpersonal, family, and/or community violence and abuse.

AVA welcomes professionals and trainees from all disciplines who are interested in advancing approaches to preventing, identifying, and responding to violence and abuse in our communities. AVA will accept submissions across all aspects of violence and abuse and will prioritize these key areas of interest in 2026:

  • Advocacy and Policy Development
  • Community Engagement and Empowerment
  • Health Professional Education, Training, and Mentoring
  • Interpersonal Violence – Child Maltreatment, Intimate Partner Violence, Sexual Violence, and Elder Abuse
  • Prevention

Submission Categories and Directions

Scientific Abstracts: 15-minute sessions formatted to include 10-minute oral presentations and 5-minutes of audience questions, or poster sessions reporting original research. Scientific abstracts must contain quantitative and/or qualitative data. Applicants will need to describe the study’s background/objective, methods, results, and conclusions. Oral presentations may be in-person or virtual. Poster presentations will be in-person. 

Seminars: 30-minute sessions formatted to include 20-minute oral presentations and 10-minutes of audience questions designed to share knowledge on topic of interest or program. Applicants will need to describe the background for the session in addition to session objectives, methods/approach, and desired educational outcomes. Seminar sessions must be presented in-person.

Workshops: 90-minute sessions designed to provide knowledge and develop take-home skills for attendees – must include small group discussion, role plays, or other active learning. Applicants will need to describe the background for the session in addition to session objectives, methods/approach, desired educational outcomes, and a session agenda with timeline. Workshop sessions must be presented in-person.
